Rome MED 2015 "Beyond Turmoil, a positive Agenda"

On the 10th, 11th, and 12th of December, Rome hosted the “Mediterranean Dialogues: Beyond Turmoil, a Positive Agenda” conference on the transformations afoot in the extended Mediterranean region in order to re-think traditional approaches and address shared challenges, both at regional and international level, with the final aim of reshaping a comprehensive dialogue. The conference touched four major pillars: shared prosperity, shared security, migration, and media, culture and society.



The event gathered 150 leaders representing governments, parliaments, international organizations, businessmen, and civil society of the Northern and Southern shores of the Mediterranean, as well as other relevant countries. Enzo Maria Le Fevre Cervini, Director of Research and Cooperation at the Budapest Centre, attended the event, invited to share the vision of the Centre on the region in the lively discussions that took place during the three-day meeting.



Over the past years, the Centre has structured a vision on the role of dialogue in the promotion of human security and, hence, of sustainable peace that could be shared to address the roots of the challenges in the Mediterranean.
